Everyone knows Jason Osipa and his awsome book Stop Staring: Facial Modeling and Animation Done Right. Although this book written 7 years before, the methods shown in this book are still throughly today.

The great thing about Osipa style setup is it reduces great amount of work efforts by controlling multiple blendshapes in to 2 dimensional X and Y translation. Some of the shapes wouldn’t happen at the same time like, smile and sad or frown, traditionally animator need to increase smile weights and reduce frown weights. With Osipa style of method by connecting these shapes in controller on opposite side will reduces great amount of work.

So, here again I made one small script which will make all the desire connetions within an half second for you. You just need to give inputs and you done. I released this script as a Beta version, for now its having limited amount of functionality. You can download this script at the end of this post. Soon I gonna develope this script in big mass.

I must say woooww!! at this moment, from past 63 years no one recongnised that Indian currency is not having its own symbol. India is republic country and so in these 63 years I guess over 12 governments and presidents were changed, and no one thought about it, thats sounds crazy !!

At last, finally INR is having its own recognides currency symbol.  And this symbol is created by an IIT Post Graduate student Uday Kumar. The design picked by 5 members of jury for among 4000 entries, now gives signature of Indian Reuppes.

Hi there,

Many times I need to get influenced joints from the mesh. Lots of time we do need to get these.

If you don’t know MEL and you want to get the list influenced joints, one simple trick is there,  just you need to select the mesh and export the weight maps (before doing this clear your script editor).  Now you will find full path of every joint’s weight map in script editor.

The next step is copy the path you’ll get something like this – “Saved file: C:/Documents and Settings/user/Desktop/CharName/meshName_jointName.iff“  now, just search and replace the path/meshName -” C:/Documents and Settings/user/Desktop/CharName/meshName_“  and “.iff” extension with a blank so that you will get only joint name – “jointName“.

And you got all the influenced joints

Ohh… this is a mess..!! lets try another simple and time saving trick. All you need to execute one small MEL command is – “select `skinCluster -q -wi`;” (remove quotes while execution) and you done your all influenced joints are now selected yuppiiee.. !!

This is that speedy and handy !!
So I made this small and handy script,for this so user can easily grab those joints by selecting in UI.
